The Evening Walk
Whilst we walk under evening light,
There appear to be no words in sight.
So silently you walk along,
I know that I have done no wrong.
I catch the sparkle in your eye.
You never held your head so high.
Have you got what you had wished?
Is there something I have missed?
I’d rather never hear the tale.
For tears to me does it entail?
With measured steps I leave your side.
With this fate, do I abide.
Many a time I’ve had a walk
Under evening light with little talk.
The silence made me feel so blind,
Uneasy thoughts would wreck my mind.
The evening walk will never end.
A longer stretch, brings every bend.
Who will live to be my guide?
From bend to bend by my side?
